BAIL LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS

Learning Environments for Competence Development

BAIL-PSP translates its pedagogical concept into learning environments where evidence, analytics, reflection, practice, feedback, and adaptive support become operational across different forms of post-school learning.

01 · FROM CONCEPT TO ENVIRONMENT

Pedagogy becomes operational through learning environments.

BAIL-PSP is not defined by a single technological platform. Its learning environments are designed as different pedagogical spaces that apply a shared logic: learning produces evidence; evidence is interpreted across time; learners and educators use that interpretation to understand development; and support is adapted towards competence achievement.

02 · THE BAIL ECOSYSTEM

Two environments, one pedagogical direction.

The current BAIL ecosystem consists of BAIL-LA and BAIL-AVLab. They address different learning contexts, but both are oriented towards making development visible and supporting competence through evidence-informed learning.

LEARNING ANALYTICS

BAIL-LA

A Learning Management System environment integrating AI-assisted learning analytics to interpret longitudinal learning evidence, track learning growth, identify emerging risks, and provide adaptive support towards competence achievement.

TEACHING PRACTICE

BAIL-AVLab

A virtual laboratory environment integrating AI avatar-supported teaching practice to help prospective teachers develop and reflect on teaching competence through repeated, structured practice and AI-supported feedback.

03 · DIFFERENT LEARNING FUNCTIONS

Analytics and practice serve complementary purposes.

BAIL-LA focuses on interpreting learning trajectories within an LMS, while BAIL-AVLab focuses on repeated teaching practice and reflective competence development. Their functions differ, but both connect learning activity with evidence and subsequent pedagogical action.

BAIL-LA

Primary function: longitudinal learning analytics, growth monitoring, risk identification, personalised feedback, and adaptive intervention.

BAIL-AVLab

Primary function: teaching practice, performance evidence, reflection, AI-supported feedback, and progressive development of teaching competence.

04 · SHARED PEDAGOGICAL LOGIC

What connects the BAIL environments?

01

Evidence-Rich Learning

Learning activities generate interpretable evidence rather than remaining isolated events.

02

Longitudinal Development

Evidence is connected across phases to reveal patterns of growth, stability, and emerging needs.

03

Self-Dialogic Reflection

Learners engage with evidence of their own development and use it to interpret progress.

04

Adaptive Responsiveness

Feedback and intervention respond to interpreted evidence and developing competence.

05 · THE ROLE OF AI MODERATION

AI strengthens the environment without becoming the pedagogy.

Across BAIL learning environments, AI is positioned as analytical, interpretive, and feedback support. Its role is moderated by pedagogical purposes: making learning evidence more visible, supporting interpretation, and enabling educators and learners to respond more effectively to development over time.
